People watching update!

Ok, so I got my but out of bed this morning and went to the gym.  I am getting good at going, but it isn’t a habit yet.  So I have started categorizing people at the gym.  I am working on defining the categories though.  These are the ones I have: Those who want to get noticed, Those who don’t want to get noticed, Those who wear non-workout clothes, Crack Fiends,  Those who don’t care what people think…… The categories grow every day and people can fit into more than one category.  Now I think that most of them are pretty self explaintary except Crack Fiend, so I will take a moment to describe this behavior.  Most of you have seen little kids on an Easter Egg Hunt right?  They run around and look for about 3 seconds in one area and then run to another area and then runs back to the same area and so on, right?  Well Crack Fiends do this with the gym equipment.  I have been watching this one lady, who is in good shape by the way, and this is exactly what she does!  I don’t think she spends more than 2 minutes on one machine at one time!  It is actually very amusing!  I also noticed someone today who came to the gym wearing pj pants!  Now she went into the locker room and I didn’t see her come out because my time on the eleptical machine was over, but that is just odd.

If anyone has anything to add to my list please feel free to.  I love hearing funny stories about people at the gym!

Ok so I finally got to the gym today.  Yesterday I found every excuse I could not to go to the gym, and I didn’t go!  BAD ME!  But I had a but killer workout today, I could barly make it up the stairs to my apartment!  I also made a decision.  I decided not to weigh in this week.  I don’t want to know this week for some reason.  I think it just gives me that much drive to next weigh in, and besides, I get to make the rules for me!

Thanksgiving was good.  I like turkey so I ate turkey.  We also had a veggie tray out all day which I munched on, so I got the veggies I wanted.  I also tried a stuffing recipe that was ok, I don’t think I will make it again, but it wasn’t so bad that I would throw it out.  I made four leftover dishes for meals for the week.  Which is good because the caf at work is mostly fried food, although they do have a good salad bar I have been having.  I was not good yesterday at keeping with one truffle, so I am going to try to give away some at work.

Life is good!!!

Things are going good in My world!  I went to the gym this morning.  Got to use the Elptical Machine that I like, so that is a good start to my day.  I have an interview set up for next week for teaching for next year, which is really good.  Today is my first payday at my temp job.  I don’t think things could be better!!

Oh and I have been able to limit myself to no more than one truffle a day!!  I hope that everyone else is having such a good day!  Well time to hit the showers!

Goal for tomorrow, eat more veggies!!!

Drag yourself out of bed?!?!

OMG!  Today I set my alarm to go off at 7 am to go to the gym (don’t have to be to work until 10:30)  I was so close to just turning it off and sleeping in, BUT I DIDN’T!!!!  I went to the gym, I saw my breath ever step of the way, but I got there.  Now it wasn’t that great of a workout, but a workout is a workout!  Calories burned!!!  I know I need to go to the gym, but getting there is 90% of the battle.

This weekend was a bust.  Didn’t go to the gym, didn’t do much of anything except make truffles for T-day.  When I mentioned them no one seemed to want me to make anything else for desert.  The only problem is when you make them you eat them!  So I know I am not going to be able to resist so I am limiting myself to no more than one a day!  I know I shouldn’t eat any, but that just isn’t realistic.  The good thing is that they are in the fridge next to the Yoplait Lite so I can easily grab on of them instead!!

My boyfriend took me to tailgate before the football game this weekend, and I have to say that there was some damn good people watching there!!!!

Well gotta shower and go to work.  My goal is to work out again tomorrow morning before work!!

Oh the Speed Bumps of Life….

Well I haven’t blogged in a while because I haven’t been to the gym in a while!  AGH!  I was good when I went to visit my dad and went to the 24 hour fitness out there, even took my bro and his gf, but that was a week ago, and today is the first day since then that I have gotten back to the gym.  Since I didn’t do much of anything this week I gained 2 pounds, but lost 2 inches, so I am not down, just more determined.

In other news…. (I sound like a news broadcaster in my head) I started a new job on Monday.  I have been doing a lot of training, haven’t really done anything else yet.  But I am just happy to have a job!!!

Well I would love to make this longer, but I got to shower before getting to work, don’t want them to think i am a slacker or anything.

People out there like me?!?!?!

I have to say that I laughed that there were so many people guilty of people watching like I am, especially at the gym!  You guys ROCK!!!  Now how many of you have fun going on a Mullet hunt at the county fair?!?!  Just kidding.

Well today I did 30 minutes on the stair machine, and this time 20 minutes of it was on level 3!!!  oh yeah!!!  I am getting up there!  I was a little disappointed because there was a guy on the rowing machine and so I didn’t do my 30 minutes on there, but I did 30 minutes on the weights.  And I had an older gentleman come up and ask about my shirt.  I was wearing the Cal Poly shirt I have.  I didn’t go there, but I had some friends who did, he had graduated there in the 60’s and so we got to chatting, and he was a nice guy.  I find it intersting because I wouldn’t have talked to him if I hadn’t forgotten my ipod.

But anyways.  I am going to go visit my dad for a few days so I won’t get to blog, and I know you all like to read my blogs :-(  But I have already looked up to see where the closest 24 hour fitness is to his boat, yes my dad lives on a boat, so that I can go work out.  My brother might go with me.

Well I gotta go pack.  Have fun people watching!!!

I have a confession….

I people watch while on the eliptical machine at the gym.  There judge me if you want, but I haven’t found anything else good to stare at.  And don’t think I stare at people I just kinda of notice them.  Like the girl in the see-through white pants with the thong on today.  HOW CAN YOU NOT NOTICE.  I do have to say she was in good shape though.  I also noticed the guy who came in, he was built very well and had a nice tight t-shirt on.  I also noticed the guy who obviously cut his shirt so there was nothing under his arm pits.  You know what I am talking about?  Now I have to say that is just gross.  I can deal with the wife-beaters and the over-sized shirt, even a tank, but to take a t-shirt and cut off the sleaves and then keep cutting is just wrong.  Now I am not saying that that guy wasn’t in shape, because he did look good, but WHY?!?

Anyways.  I do have to say it is fun to watch the people at the gym.  I know it sounds bad, but there are all different types.  I think the ones that make me laugh the most are the women who come to the gym with their hair done and make-up on.  WHO does that?

Alright well enough of my fun.  I gotta go, feel free to tell me I am a bad person for finding some fun at the gym.

Yeah I got a job….

..yes I got a job yesterday, it is only temp work, but I need the money so it is all good.  I actually have an interview today as well and there is a job fair tomorrow, just keeping my options open.

OMG!!!  I saw it again today!  Someone waited 1 whole minute for someone to pull out of a spot as I walked to the gym.  In the time that she waited she could have parked and went in and started working out!!!  What is going on in this world.  I mean it isn’t even that cold, and it’s not snowing or raining!  I just don’t understand it!

So today was a hard day at the gym.  I did half an hour on the stair machine.  I was proud I did 10 minutes on level 3 and then 20 on level 2.  I am slowly working my way up.  Soon I will be working all on level 3 and have to go higher!!!  I then did half an hour on the rowing machine,  which my arms were sort from the day before so after that I was tired and called it a day for the gym.  Today marks the 6th day in a row!  And you know since I started going to the gym consistently things have really been looking up.  Before I was depressed because I wasn’t going to the gym and I was out of work.  Now I don’t look at it like that!  I am disappointed that I don’t have a job, but not depressed.

People make me laugh

So I walk to the gym, since it is right next to my apartment complex it is easy and beats wasting gas.  Now I don’t expect everyone to have the convience I do, but I do have to laugh a little bit when I see someone waiting for a parking spot close to the door while someone is pulling out.  Now if the parking lot was packed I wouldn’t think twice, but it wasn’t.  Now this makes me wonder, well maybe she works in the gym and isn’t going there to work out, but she wasn’t wearing the 24 hour fitness shirt.  So this makes me wonder, how much are you into getting in shape when you will wait for the closer spot instead of taking a different spot and walking a little further?

Oh what an interesting world we live in.

Well went to the gym today, yeah I know you got that from the above paragraph, but I will state it anyway.  Did half an hour on the elptical and half an hour of weight training.  I feel good.  I want to keep this up until I get a job and then set a new grove to get into.

I am hoping to hear from someone today about a job.  I say someone because there are about three different people I could hear from, any would make me happy, but some would be better than others.

Well I have some stuff to do, lates all.

Half Hour on the Stair Machine OH YEAH

So I just got back from the gym.  Four days in a row!  And today I spent a half an hour on the stair machine and didn’t even go down to level 1.  All level 2 and 3, but mostly 2.  I then did another half an hour on the rowwing machine, which I kinda like.  I rounded it out with some sit-ups.

I am doing well with going to the gym, and I am going to try to keep all of that up before I start to change my diet drastically.  Now I know that this isn’t going to be effective in the beginning, but I found that if I change too much too soon then I give up and go back to my old ways.  So I am going to work on one thing at a time.

Well I have to go and get groceries for the week.
